公共空間を変質させ、少し不思議な風景を生み出すことを目指した。
一枚の白いプレートがつくりだす上と下の世界は、公共空間をささやかに異化する。

日本設計学会が毎年主催するArchitects of the year 2024。
今年のテーマは「Under Renovation」で8組の建築家が選出され、
そのうちの1組に私たちが選ばれた。
私たちは、ここで2つのリノベーションを展示することを試みた。
ひとつは2023年に竣工した町家のリノベーション「河道屋 倖松庵」。
もうひとつは、会場である「日本橋の家ギャラリー」。
この会場は、安藤忠雄が設計した「日本橋の家」をギャラリーへと転用したもので
私たちが担当する空間は、かつて子ども室だった部屋である。
この展示室のコンクリートの躯体に
あらたな床と壁と天井をつくり
さらに別の現場から持ち込んだ町家の柱を建てる。
私たちが2つのリノベーションを展示することで
現在と過去、複数の空間が同時に顕現します。
この不思議な感覚を、鑑賞者に味わってもらえればと思い、この展示を構想した。

We tried to showcase two renovations here.
One is “Kawamichiya Koshoan”, a renovated townhouse that was completed in 2023.
The other is the venue, “Nipponbashi House Gallery".
This venue is a “Nipponbashi House" designed by Tadao Ando
that has been converted into a gallery,
and the space we will be in charge of is a room that was once a children's room.
A new floor, walls, and ceiling will be built on the concrete frame of this exhibition room,
and the pillars of the townhouse brought in from another site will also be erected.
By exhibiting two renovations
Multiple spaces, the present and the past, are manifested simultaneously.
I conceived this exhibition with the hope that viewers would experience this mysterious feeling.
