隣接して建つ築約50年の旅館と木造アパートを改修して、
2棟のゲストハウス「しづやKYOTO」へと再生するプロジェクト。
一方は個室タイプのOMOYAで、もう一方は、一人でもグループでも利用できるHANARE。
OMOYAはカプセルタイプのスリーピングスペースを2室上下に組み合わせ、
そこに書斎とスーツケース収納を設けたコンパクトな客室である。
ミニマムな機 能に遊び心を加えた女性専用の宿泊施設となっている。
客室の書斎の天井には勾配があり、それによって廊下側からは長屋のような佇まいとなっている。
HANAREは大きな共用スペースに、それぞれ異なる機能と異なるスケールをもった箱型の空間が配置されている。
箱の中はツイン、和室、ドミトリーからな る客室に加え、共有キッチンなどの水回り機能が内包されている。
共に露出させた木造架構の中に新たに建築を挿入することで、建築内に「内と外」をつくる構成をとっている。
OMOYAは路地を通って家に帰り着くような 「外から内へと入っていく」空間を、
HANAREは家から飛び出して町の広場に集うような「内から外へと出ていく」空間をつくりあげた。
そして、それらはアプローチのランドスケープを介して連続する。
限られたスペースの中の路地空間が旅人を出迎え、そして見送っていく。
An old Japanese-style hotel and a wooden apartment neighbored in Kyoto.
The project which re-forms those to a guest house "ShizuyaKYOTO".
One is the name as "OMOYA" and is the meaning as "the main building" by Japanese.
Another are the meaning as "HANARE" and are the meaning as "the separation building" by Japanese.
The guest room in OMOYA is compact.
It has a study, store and a low-ceilinged bedroom.
The ceiling of the cabin is slanting and seems to be a row house from the hallway side by that.
Big sharing space and a box with several functions are arranged by HANARE.
A box contains a guest room, a sharing kitchen and the function around the water.
Both of 2 guesthouses are the design which made an old wooden engine frame expose.
Outside space is space like a thin lane.
An element of a Japanese garden is being used there.
It's a guest house of the limited area, but it's the space where a traveler is met and it's seen off.
